Wi-Fi Inspector

Wi-Fi Inspector

It is also available for Linux/Unix, Mac OS.X (Mac OS 10.5 at least) at the editor’s site.
WI-Fi Inspector is a utility for detecting Wi-Fi networks. It detects all the networks within reach of your computer equipped with Wi-Fi and of all the channels (1 to 11). Its “Radar” function allows to determine the approximate distance from the emission source, and its information window provides all available information about the network

(SSID, MAC addresses, reception level…). You can use its “Connect/Disconnect” function to replace the traditional utility of Windows connection. It also has a graph which shows the use of bandwidth, connection speed, IP, key type and much more which Windows connection system cannot show.
Its memory consumption is average. It is possible to change the colors, options and you can choose either “Radar” or “Sonar”…
It runs on Vista, XP, Mac OS, Seven and Linux. For Vista, it would be better to use the gadget for the memory’s sake.
NB: The one which you can download from this site is for Windows. For the other operating system, go to the editor’s site.
